I'd like to talk about¹ my cousin, Leo, who runs a very successful specialty coffee shop in my city. He is about five years older than me, and although we have known each other all our lives, I became much closer to him² after I started university. Whenever I went back home during holidays, he would take me to different cafés and tell me about coffee beans, brewing methods, and customer service. At the same time, he noticed that many young people in our neighbourhood wanted a comfortable place to meet friends, work remotely, or simply take a break. Since he had always been passionate about coffee, he decided to turn that interest into a business³. Before opening his shop, he spent nearly a year learning about coffee roasting and management. He also worked part-time in several independent cafés to gain practical experience⁴. Then he saved money, borrowed a small amount from his family, and opened a compact café near a university campus. His business mainly sells hand-brewed coffee, homemade desserts, and a few light meals. However, what makes it special is⁵ the atmosphere. The shop is bright, quiet, and full of plants, and the staff remember regular customers' preferences. Leo also uses social media cleverly: he posts short videos about new drinks and shares behind-the-scenes stories, which attracts many students. I think his business is successful not only because it makes a good profit, but also because it has built a loyal community. Even during quieter periods, customers continue to recommend it to others. In my view, Leo succeeded because he combined professional skills with a genuine understanding of what local customers wanted⁶.
