One traditional product in my country is the mooncake. These are traditional pastries that are typically enjoyed during the Mid-Autumn Festival, a festival that celebrates the moon and family reunions. I first tried a mooncake when I was quite young, probably around the age of eight, during a family gathering to celebrate this festival. Mooncakes are usually made from a rich pastry dough filled with a sweet lotus seed paste, and sometimes they contain salted egg yolks, nuts, or red bean paste as well. I have always found mooncakes to be quite delicious, although they are very rich and dense, so a small piece is usually enough to satisfy. I feel a deep sense of nostalgia whenever I eat them, as they remind me of our family's celebrations and the stories my grandparents would tell about the moon and traditional folklore.
