For example, in many Asian countries, removing shoes before entering a home is a sign of respect, and failing to do so could be perceived as disrespectful. On the other hand, those who advocate for host countries to embrace cultural differences suggest that such openness fosters multiculturalism and mutual understanding⁴. In an increasingly globalized world, exposure to diverse cultures can enhance social harmony and broaden perspectives. For instance, in cosmopolitan cities like London and New York, cultural diversity is celebrated, and this inclusivity has led to vibrant, dynamic communities. Encouraging cultural exchange can lead to innovation and the fusion of new ideas, which can be beneficial for societal progress.

In my opinion, while it is important for visitors to respect local customs to a certain extent⁶, host countries should also be open to cultural diversity. A mutual respect for differences⁵ can create a more inclusive and understanding world. Encouraging visitors to learn about and engage with local traditions while simultaneously celebrating their unique cultural identities can lead to a richer, more harmonious global community.
