I’d like to talk about1 the Shanghai Tower, which is a skyscraper I really like. It is mainly used for2 offices, but it also contains shops, restaurants, exhibition spaces, and an observation deck for tourists. It is located in Lujiazui, the financial district of Shanghai, right next to several other3 famous high-rise buildings, such as the Shanghai World Financial Center and the Jin Mao Tower. Because it stands in such a prominent area, it is easy to spot from many parts of the city. What makes it particularly impressive4 is its appearance. The building is extremely tall, rising to over 600 metres, and it has a distinctive twisted shape. As it goes upwards, the glass exterior gradually rotates, which makes the tower look elegant and dynamic rather than simply huge. On a clear day, its surface reflects the sky and the surrounding buildings, so it almost seems to change colour. I like the Shanghai Tower not only because of5 its striking design, but also because it represents modern China’s ambition and creativity. Although it is surrounded by other skyscrapers, it still has its own character. I also appreciate that its design helps reduce wind pressure and includes energy-saving features. To me, it is more than just a tall building6; it is a symbol of Shanghai’s energy, confidence, and international character.
