I’d like to talk about my cousin, Daniel, who went through a difficult period but eventually achieved his goal of becoming a software designer. Daniel grew up in a small town, and his family was not well-off. Although he was interested in computers from an early age, his parents could not afford to buy him a personal computer or pay for expensive training courses. At first, he made plenty of mistakes and even failed a few important exams. However, he treated those setbacks as lessons rather than proof that he was incapable. He also joined an online study group, where he gradually became more comfortable discussing problems with other learners. After several years of steady effort, Daniel earned a scholarship to study computer science at university. He later completed an internship at a technology company and was offered a full-time job there after graduation. I really admire him because his success did not come from luck or a privileged background. It came from persistence, self-discipline, and the courage to keep learning despite repeated failures. Whenever I feel discouraged by a challenge, I think of Daniel and remind myself that progress is often slow, but it is still possible if we refuse to quit.
